Jenna Bash Festival 2013 is coming!

It’s that fun time of the year again, SUMMER! Everyone’s thinking vacations, fun, ways to cool off, what to do with the kids…better yet what to do with the kids that won’t break the bank. Well, here is your answer. On August 3, you can enjoy the Jenna Bash Festival on the grounds of Tabernacle UMC. It will be a day of fun for the whole family with our carnival style event. We start the day with a 5K and 1 mile fun run event. After that you can browse 20 plus vendors who will have exciting things for sale including glitter tatoos and fun stuff for the kids. There will be great food, live music, raffles, a huge Silent Auction, animals for adoption, lots of get wet fun (kids wear your bathing suit), hayrides and more! This year we have an exciting contest…The B’ville Best Beard Contest!!! We still need 6 more contestants to round out the 10 spaces. You will have a chance to vote on and crown our winner for the best beard! Check the Jenna Bash Festival page for your entry form (coming in the next few days). You also have the opportunity to participate in or just watch the Butterfly Release at 1 p.m. that day. We hope you will bring yourself, your family, and tell all your friends about the Jenna Bash Festival!!

The Pantry in May

We had a beautiful May afternoon at the pantry. 15 volunteers enjoyed providing food for 42 families. In addition, the Girl Scouts provided bagged lunches for all the children. Once again God has given us an opportunity to serve him.

Spring at The Thrift Spot!

This past Saturday finally felt like Spring at the Thrift Spot and the crowd really reflected it!  We had loads of great merchandise and lots of great customers.  It never ceases to amaze me how much more is taking place than just shopping.  It’s wonderful to be able to listen and share in people’s lives as well as offer support and prayer when requested.

It’s spring cleaning time for many and we are so appreciative of all the donations that have been coming in.  We are still in need of furniture and household items.  Items can be dropped off anytime as long as you can get them under the carport.  Volunteers are there working on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9-4 if you would like to see someone in person regarding your donations.  We are a registered non-profit, so donation forms are available for filing with your taxes.

We look forward to another beautiful day this coming Saturday.  Every day is a great day at the Thrift Spot!  See you there.
