Our Food Pantry

We started out June with a lot of fun at the pantry. The weather was perfect and everyone was in good spirits. 15 volunteers provided food for 59 families. We had received extra donations from the auction house and beautiful produce from David and Linda Paul. On Saturday we provided food for two additional families. Well over 138 people benefited this week-end.
God continues to provide us with an abundance of food and a way to serve Him.

February 2014 off to a great start!

February has started off in a super way for PGO! First, the Thrift Spot had an
exceptional day with more volunteers than normal (in addition to our wonderful regular ladies, this includes boys and men of all ages giving a few hours of their time to help with the setup and take down). Our first service project of 2014 was completed today and the Girl Scout troops of Stone House brought 244 bags of food to our pantry. That’s 2271 pounds of food! The blessings continue to flow.

December’s Pantry

imageDecember was an excellent month for PGO’s food pantry. In addition to the food from the Central Virginia Food Bank, both cash and food was donated by individuals, churches and companies from the Barhamsville community. Our community’s support enabled us to provide food for ninety three families with fifty five of those families receiving food on both of our opening days. Over thirty different people served as volunteers as four bags of groceries were provided for each family each time the pantry was open. Truly, God is blessing this work. We at PGO would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our volunteers and the fine work they have done this year. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
