The Polar Plunge takes place on January 31, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Rockahock Campground, Lanexa, Virginia.
Our first annual Polar Plunge took place on January 25, 2015 at Rockahock Campground. We had a wonderful turnout. We were blessed with a beautiful day and a huge crowd of approximately 100 people. We had 2 people stick their feet in and 13 others who took the full plunge in the 48 degree water.
The event was intended to be a celebration of the $30,000.00 that had already been collected, however one thing led to another and we were about to add another $1000 to the Building Fund that day. A hearty meal was served by Tabernacle UMC. It was a wonderful thing to partner with several of our 16 collaborating churches and Rockahock to make a good thing happen for the community.
Why not join us this year? We need you to come out and support us by watching or by plunging!
We might have a cold one this year! Our goal is to have 1000 people donate at least $10.00. All proceeds will benefit the Building Fund for the Jenna Grace King Outreach Center.
Here are your options!!
• $10.00 = you don’t have to plunge, just make a donation
• $15.00 = you go in to your ankles, knees, or waist
• $20.00 = you go all the way!
• $100.00 = your whole office, church, work, civic group, or any other group of your choice can all go into together (limit of 10 per group).
You team will be announced and have your 15 seconds of fame!
Costumes are encouraged to make it even more fun! There will be a winner for the best team costume! A fundraising “Simple Supper” complete with live music by “Work In Progress” will be served afterwards in the clubhouse to benefit a local church.
This will be a fun afternoon. Everyone is invited to come and watch!
